Survey Reports

Interceptum offers the following types of reports. See below for additional details on each type of report.

Type

Description

Statistics

Statistics reports are used for statistical analysis of survey results. They contain contains charts and tables produced based on the type of questions in the survey. See below for details on what type of charts and tables are produced.

Question Points

(Enterprise Version)

Question Points reports are used to generate statistics based on points set in Categorical, Multiple Choice, and Likert Scale questions. The point statistics are broken down by question.

Survey Points

(Enterprise Version)

Survey Points reports are similar to Question Points, except that the statistics are generated based on the total points of the participants' answers.

Cross Tab

(Advanced Version)

Cross Tab reports are used to split certain responses based on other responses. Typically, they are used to break down responses baed on biographical data (sex, gender, age, etc.).

Export

(Advanced Version)

Export reports are used to export raw survey data in either Coma Separated Value (.csv), Excel, or IBM SPSS / GNU PSPP format.

Text

Text reports are used to view answers in a text format. They are useful to view and analyse open ended questions and the values entered when a participant selects a choice of "Other" and provides details.

Download

(Enterprise Version)

Download reports are used to download all the files associated with survey responses in a single download operation.

Synthesis

(Enterprise Version)

Synthesis reports are used group a set of reports together so they can be generated as a single report. Synthesis reports are useful when schedule reports.

Statistical Reports

The following options are available when creating a statistical report:

Name*

The title of the report.

Included Survey Fields*

The questions and fields to include in the report. Only questions and fields that can be used to generate charts or tables can be selected.

Category Field

A field used to break down responses by category. For each value in the selected category field, a series of chats will be generated to show the data for that value.

For example, selecting an "Gender" field that has two options "Male" and "Female" would produce two series of graphics. The first one will show the statistics for only the participants who selected "Male" and the second one will show the statistics for the participants who selected "Female".

Sub-Category Field

A field used to further break down results.

Include Not Applicable

Indicates if choices labels are "Not Applicable" in questions are included in the report or not.

Publicly Accessible

Indicates if this report can be viewed by any one that knows the report's public URL (displayed at the bottom of the screen). A person does not need to login into your Interceptum account to view a publicly accessible report.

Password

A password to protect a publicly accessible report. Before a person can view the report via the public address they will need to enter this password.

Logo

Indicates if the account's logo should be displayed at the top of the report.

Header

Text that will appear above the charts in the report.

Footer

Text that will appear below the charts in the report.

Statistical Report Charts and Tables

When viewing a Survey Report, the following charts and tables will be produced based on the type of questions in your survey.

Question Type

Chart/Table Description

Categorical

A pie chart that contains a Series (slice) for each possible answer of the Question.

Each Series represents the % of participants who have selected that answer.

Custom Fields

See the table below.

Image Selection

A bar chart that contains a Series (bar) for each possible answer in the Question.

Each series represents the % of participants that have selected that answer.

Likert Scale

A table with two columns. The first column contains the text of the different statements that have been rated. The second column contains a table showing the total number of times each likert scale item was selected for this statement.

Matrix

Two matrix tables: a totals matrix and an averages matrix.

Totals Matrix

  • Number: The total of the answers provided by participants.

  • Categorical or List: The total number of participants that selected each of the available options.

  • Checkbox: The total of participants that have checked and not checked the checkbox.

Averages Matrix

This matrix contains values only for Number columns. The values are the average of the answers entered by the participants.

Multiple Choice

A bar chart that contains a Series (bar) for each possible answer in the Question.

Each series represents the % of participants that have selected that answer.

Ordinal

A pie chart that contains a Series (slice) for each possible answer of the Question.

Each Series represents the % of participants who have ranked that answer first.

When viewing a Survey Report, the following charts and tables will be produced based on the type of custom field in the survey's personal information or in the Custom Fields Questions.

Number

A matrix that contains the sum of all answers entered, the average of all answers entered, the maximum value amongst all answers entered, and the minimum value amongst all answers entered.

Dropdown list

A bar or pie chart depending on whether the field lets participants select a single answer or multiple answers.

The chart contains a series for each choice in the list that represents the % of participants that have selected that choice in the list.

Question Points Reports

The following options are available when creating a question points report:

Name*

The title of the report.

Questions*

The questions to include in the report. Only questions with points can be selected.

Category Field

A field used to break down responses by category. For each value in the selected category field, a series of chats will be generated to show the data for that value.

For example, selecting an "Gender" field that has two options "Male" and "Female" would produce two series of graphics. The first one will show the statistics for only the participants who selected "Male" and the second one will show the statistics for the participants who selected "Female".

Fiscal Year

The fiscal year to which to limit the reports data.

Fiscal Year Field

A field used to determine in what fiscal year a participant's responses belongs too. If no field is specified, the "Completed On" field is used.

Show Quarters

Indicates if the results should be split based on quarters.

Show Previous Year

Indicates if the results of the previous fiscal year should also be included for comparison.

Publicly Accessible

Indicates if this report can be viewed by any one that knows the report's public URL (displayed at the bottom of the screen).

Password

A password to protect a publicly accessible report. Before a person can view the report via the public address they will need to enter this password.

Logo

Indicates if the account's logo should be displayed at the top of the report.

Export Reports

The following options are available when creating an export report:

Name*

The title of the report.

Format

Indicates in which format to export the survey data. The available formats are Coma Separated Value (*.csv), Microsoft Excel, or IBM SPSS/GNU PSPP. If not format is selected, the export will export the data in Microsoft Excel.

Included Survey Fields*

The questions and fields to include in the report.

Use Question Names

Indicates if any variable names specified in the questions or custom fields should be ignored. If ignored, the export will use the question name or field name instead of the variable name.

Publicly Accessible

Indicates if this report can be viewed by any one that knows the report's public URL (displayed at the bottom of the screen).

Password

A password to protect a publicly accessible report. Before a person can view the report via the public address they will need to enter this password.

Text Reports

The following options are available when creating an text report:

Name*

The title of the report.

Page beak before each participant's answers

Indicates if a page break will be inserted before each participant's answers. The page break takes effect only when the report is printed.

Group responses by question

Indicates if the responses are grouped by question. By default the all the responses are presented together for each participant, and each participant is presented one after the other. This option will display all participant's answers to each question, one question after another. It makes it easier to analyse the responses to a specific question.

The questions and fields to include in the report.

Publicly Accessible

Indicates if this report can be viewed by any one that knows the report's public URL (displayed at the bottom of the screen).

Password

A password to protect a publicly accessible report. Before a person can view the report via the public address they will need to enter this password.
